How many times have you heard someone who’s “made it” in their industry declare that they’re self-made?

It is true that many of us wear a whole lotta hats — especially in the early days of our biz — but wearing literally all of them without any outside help or expertise ever?
Get real.
Relationships are the backbone and lifeblood of any business, especially at scale.
Teams exist for a reason.
CEOs don’t create viral marketing campaigns and scrub toilets. Maybe they can, sure. They can be a part of any part of the business if they really want their input added — and let’s be honest, many of us, especially us founders — do.
But who, for example, is manufacturing their own makeup from their own ingredients in their own lab with their own packaging?
Who’s building an app on their own tech platform from their own million dollar venture investment?
Who’s physically building out their own coworking space with their own two hands, with their own raw materials, their own handmade furniture, and their own name-brand internet connection?
We’ll tell you who — no one. And that, dear friends, is why SELF-MADE IS A LIE. (ahem)
Reality = Together
Don’t fall into the trap of believing you can or even should do everything yourself or that there’s some kind of glory in doing it.
You get to build beautiful dreams, visions, goals, and realities with other wildly talented people. You get to stride forward in your zone of genius while the people you surround yourself with stride forward in theirs. You get to build and build well together.
